23 Rider on a White Horse
John sees a vision sent from heaven of purity and power in the form of a warrior rider who is called ‘Faithful and True’. He is the bringer of justice crowned as a king, and his eyes blaze like fire. On his bloodstained robe is written ‘King of Kings and Lord of Lords’. This leader of the armies of heaven is called ‘The Word of God’.
The white horse represents a new heaven-sent purity of understanding entering our consciousness. The rider’s sword is the voice of truth that liberates the transformative spiritual power of the Word of God. These challenge us to follow the inspiration and insight that the Christ enables us to see for ourselves. I ask myself: Have I the courage to follow the truth I believe, wherever it leads, and to trust its transformative power? Will I heed the call from within my own soul to accept any resulting change, and to live out in love the spiritual sense of scripture being revealed to me?
“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. … He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.”
