28 Four-Square City
The Holy City, new Jerusalem, that John sees is descending out of heaven from God. Its beauty is like a radiant bride on her wedding day. A perfect cube of transparent gold and precious jewels, it has no temple because at its heart is the Lord God Almighty as the Lamb. Divine Humanity illuminates it from within and twelve gates of pearl stand forever open to all nations.
This golden city of love and light is equal in length, breadth and height – a perfect balance between love, wisdom and service. Such a pattern of life and belief is entered through the wisdom represented by the twelve tribes. Its foundation is the priceless dedication of true discipleship. Through this transformed life pattern flows the living truth, bringing truly fruitful spiritual growth, and generating inner healing and wholeness. All is centred in a conscious conjoining of our lives with the indwelling presence of the Divine, enabling us to live life in the golden light of God’s love for all people.
“He carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal.
